Keet was born in Seattle, Washington but moved from the Pacific Northwest to the Southwest when I was 6. I grew up in Albuquerque, New Mexico in the 1980s amidst gang violence and Chicano culture prevalent in the area. I started writing graffiti in the ’80s, inspired in equal parts by the act of vandalism, the visual aesthetic of classic New York Hip-Hop as well as skateboard and punk rock graphics. I was able to procure a proper tattoo apprenticeship with my mentor Cap Szumski in 1994 and we moved to Atlanta to open Timeless Tattoo. I have been tattooing professionally for the last 25 years. After many adventures, I’ve returned to work at the place that I learned. I am a third-generation artist, my father was an actor, director, painter, and fine arts, photographer. My Grandmother and her Sister were also accomplished, painters. As I have grown as an artist, I’ve had to separate the things I do to make a living and the things I do to keep me sane. Sometimes they converge, sometimes they do not, but each strengthens the other in practice and application.
