Sarah Burton. Apparently she was Lee’s right hand woman and head of women’s wear design. She took what he dreamt of and turned it into sale-able clothing all these years. I find it difficult to write about this tragedy. He was a great man with a great mind. The theatrics of his shows were matched only by the skill of his garment construction. For whatever reason, Lee McQueen, founder and designer for Alexander McQueen, felt it necessary to take his own life February 11th 2010 (some are linking it to the death of his mother who was scheduled to be buried the day after). A note was left but the contents have not been made public. While it looks like an apparent suicide, authorities are hesitant in calling it such. A full inquiry is underway and the results have yet to be released however the cause of his death has been ruled as asphyxiation due to hanging. There is a scheduled hearing to the inquest for April 28th. There are no details as to his scheduled funeral. CONTINUE READING +
