This is the DJ of the legendary group PUBLIC ENEMY and his having his bday party at east side lounge, from what I understand there's going to be turntable battle on 4 tables, yes tables [not serato] between the JUICE MAN and DJ LORD. This is an interesting concept, it’s not necessarily new but a more refined version. I would compare it to boxing, its like seeing two talented well trained athletes[in this case artists] go at it, with nothing to loose except their honor and you can be there to watch it go DOWN!!!! It should be pretty interesting considering that King Cotton aka Michi is know for imagery of black face & southern imagery, and Charley is know for his contemporary paintings of black america. Congratulations to Corey Davis and City of Ink for putting together a great event. While I love art shows, art parties are where it’s at. They’re a lot less formal and just about every piece has its own style and technique to admire (or critique). And, being that it was a group show, the heightened amount of creative energy packed into such a small space was simply electrifying and inspiring. It was like a petrie dish in there.
